Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog page. My name is Wesley Geelhoed, living in Dirksland (NL). To me, enjoyment is the driving force for success.
I am a very driven IT Architect, mainly specialized within the VMware industry.
Building virtual infrastructures and contributing to IT solutions is what I love doing most. I developed myself well on different technical areas such as private cloud, public cloud and cloud migrations focused on security and connectivity. Throughout the years I gained a lot of experience with implementations, migrations and creating rock solid IT Architectures. I am VMware vExpert for six (6) years in a row and a VMware Certified Design Expert on Network Virtualization (VCDX-NV) (number 290). VCDXes are part of an elite group holding the highest level of VMware certification. A VCDX has validated its enterprise-class skills as an Architect in VMware solution design in front of a panel of veteran VCDX panel.
Since 2023 I am also assigned the VCDX Panelist role. The VCDX Panelist is a critical component if the entire VCDX program and accreditation, and a member of world-class consulting architects. After earning the VCDX themselves, VCDX Panelists must meet a high level of preparation and practice before judging candidates on a VCDX panel.
I also have a proven track record outside the VMware industry, with certifications as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) I can guide and help customers throughout the complete infrastructure stack.
My working method can be characterized as thorough, passionate and explorative. Finding the most appropriate solution is my drive. I am able to work successfully individually and in teams. My added value within a team are my communication skills. A challenge gives me energy!
Currently, I’m working at VMware as a Consulting Architect within the NEMEA region.

My dogs Hoshi and Kayto are one of the many things I’m proud of. Hoshi is a Japanese Akita and Kayto is a crossbreed dog between the Golden Retriever and the Australian Shepherd.
I would like to mention my passion for football as well. I support Feyenoord in Holland very fanatically and I feel it is the most beautiful and also sometimes annoying club I know. But we, the fans are very very passionate about the club and that’s one of the main reasons I like it so much.
I am a huge fan of motorsports, and watch MotoGP if I am able to find the time. Nowadays my priority lies more by the motorsports with 4 wheels, mainly watching Formula 1 and the IndyCar series. I really enjoy to see that every time the F1 teams keeps developing to get faster and better. Obviously, I am a dutchie and therefore a huge fan of Max Verstappen #33 who drives for Red Bull Racing.
Last, but certainly not least.. I am a Sim Racer in my private time, spending a lot of time in my sim rig while playing race simulators in different cars and tracks. Driving, GT3, GTE, and Formula style cars. I am founder and driver of WPR Racing NL, a sim racing team mainly focussing on endurance race events.
Because of this sim racing hobby, together with some friends we’ve create a Podcast dedicated to sim racing. Our Podcast show comes every month with a new episode and is called Sim Craft Podcast.
